This review will be looking at a 256MB Flash Memory Drive. These devices are often referred to as thumb drives, flash drives, or pen drives. Whatever the name may be, these devices are mighty handy and useful from past experience. If you are unfamiliar with this type of device, they are basically mini hard drives, roughly the size of a thumb, which connect to your computer via a USB port. Another great feature about them is that they do not require you to reboot in modern operating systems. They come in a wide variety of capacities ranging from 64MB to 2GB and generally run on USB2.0

Features:
∙ USB2.0 Compliant
∙ Windows 98/SE supported
∙ Bootable
∙ LED indicators
With this device being USB2.0 compliant, you can expect high transfer rates if you are using USB2.0 technology; however, it is still backward compatible with USB1.1. This USB technology also prevents the device from requiring any external power connections and provides plug and play capabilities. You also have the capabilities to boot from the thumb drive if you have any bootable programs that fit on it. LED indicators mounted on the flash drive will indicate when the device is powered or busy.
Initial Impressions:
This device is very small and could be comparable to the size of a thumb, hence its name. Initially, the thumb drive reminded me of a lighter due to its appearance, which is white with a silver chrome trim separating the cover, protecting the USB connector and the drive itself. The drive appears to be very durable.
